Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information SetSync handles, why it is needed, and the controls available to you.

1. About SetSync

SetSync is a fitness application provided by its independent developer. In this policy, "SetSync," "we," and "us" refer to the app and its developer.

SetSync is free to use. It has no paid subscriptions or in-app purchases. This policy covers the SetSync app, this website, and support or privacy requests sent to the developer.

2. Information you provide

The information SetSync handles depends on the features you choose to use.

  • Account information: your email address and the password you submit to Firebase Authentication for account creation, sign-in, email verification, password reset, and reauthentication. Firebase assigns a user ID and maintains verification, authentication-state, and related security metadata. The developer does not store a separate copy of your password.
  • Workouts and history: workout names, dates, timestamps, status, start and completion times, duration, notes, exercise names, set order and position, repetitions, weight or plate values, load mode, parent-set and drop-position relationships, supersets, completed-workout summaries, template source, and related workout details.
  • Workout templates: template names and notes, exercises, normal and drop sets, repetitions, weights, plate counts, supersets, reused or suggested values, and template update preferences.
  • Body weight: body-weight entries, dates and timestamps, weight-unit preference, and a target-weight goal.
  • Body measurements: a selected or custom body-area or measurement type, measurement value, measurement date, and creation or update timestamps. Body-weight and body-measurement information may be health or fitness information.
  • Preferences: kilograms or pounds, week-start day, rest-timer and auto-pause choices, personal-record sound or haptic feedback, template update settings, language selection (System, English, or Romanian), appearance selection (System, Light, or Dark).
  • Support communications: if you email setsyncworkout@gmail.com, the developer receives your email address, message, and anything you voluntarily attach or include.

3. Information generated from your use of SetSync

SetSync calculates information from the entries you provide so it can show useful workout and progress views. This may include:

  • Workout volume, duration, workout counts, weekly counts, and completed-workout summaries.
  • Progress differences, trends, graph values, latest-entry summaries, and change calculations for body weight and measurements.
  • Calendar indicators, activity dates, measurement counts, and other history summaries.
  • Suggested or reused template values based on workout and template data.
  • Personal-record eligibility, compatibility metadata, and markers derived automatically from workout history, including weight, repetition, plate, exercise-wide, set-position, and drop-position records.

SetSync may perform a silent, versioned background repair that replays existing completed workout history to reconstruct accurate personal-record metadata. This repair processes workout information already associated with your account and updates derived PR markers; it does not collect a new category of personal information. PR labels may also be compacted for display without changing the underlying workout entries.

4. Information stored on your device

SetSync stores limited information locally where needed to operate the app. This can include your language and appearance choices, account-scoped preference caches linked to your Firebase user ID, and Firebase authentication or session information used to keep you signed in. The app may also hold temporary application state while it is running.

Local preference and authentication storage is not data sharing. It is protected by the safeguards available on your device, but no local storage method can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. Clearing app data or uninstalling SetSync may remove local information, but it does not delete your SetSync account or cloud-hosted account data.

5. How SetSync uses information

SetSync uses information only to provide, secure, maintain, and support the service. Uses include:

  • Creating and authenticating accounts, verifying email addresses, resetting passwords, and keeping users signed in.
  • Saving and retrieving data associated with the authenticated Firebase user ID.
  • Recording and displaying workouts, completed history, notes, duration, and workout summaries.
  • Creating, reusing, editing, and updating workout templates.
  • Calculating personal records and repairing derived historical PR metadata.
  • Displaying body-weight goals, body-weight and measurement history, progress, charts, and calendar activity.
  • Remembering language, appearance, units, week-start, timer, feedback, and template preferences.
  • Operating account and data deletion.
  • Responding to support, account ownership, privacy, and deletion requests.
  • Securing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and debugging SetSync and its supporting services.

SetSync does not use app information for advertising, unrelated marketing, or user profiling.

6. Firebase and Google service providers

SetSync uses Firebase Authentication for email and password accounts, verification, password reset, persistent authentication, and reauthentication. It uses Cloud Firestore and Firebase/Google infrastructure to store and synchronize user-scoped app data.

Google generally acts as a service provider when processing SetSync data through these Firebase services. Google may process authentication credentials, email addresses, Firebase user IDs, IP addresses, user-agent information, and other technical, security, or service information required to provide, protect, and maintain those services.

Google's processing is also governed by its own terms, retention requirements, and privacy practices. Learn more from the official Firebase privacy and security information.

7. External links and optional Ko-fi support

SetSync links to the external SetSync page on Ko-fi for optional financial support. Donations are not required to use SetSync, do not unlock features, and are not a SetSync subscription or in-app purchase.

SetSync does not store payment-card or bank-account information. Ko-fi and its payment processors, including Stripe and PayPal, process donation and payment information under their own terms and privacy policies. When you open the link, your browser connects directly to Ko-fi and Ko-fi may receive ordinary web-request information.

SetSync account data and workout data are not intentionally sent to Ko-fi merely because you open the support link. Deleting a SetSync account does not delete a separate Ko-fi account or Ko-fi PayPal and Stripe transaction record.

8. Data sharing, sale, advertising and website analytics

SetSync does not sell personal data, does not share app data with advertisers, and does not display advertisements.

Firebase and Google process information as service providers so authentication, storage, synchronization, security, and related app functions can operate. Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, or to protect the security and rights of users, the service, or others.

This static website does not set cookies and does not include analytics scripts, tracking pixels, advertising scripts, or third-party fonts. If you choose an external link, such as Ko-fi or Firebase information, the destination website processes the resulting visit under its own practices.

9. Device features and permissions

Internet access is required to create or authenticate an account and synchronize cloud data. SetSync may play optional audio feedback and use vibration or haptics for selected feedback, including personal-record feedback.

SetSync does not record audio or use the microphone. It does not use the camera, access contacts, or access precise or approximate location.

10. Data security

SetSync uses Firebase Authentication, email-verification checks, Firebase user-ID-scoped data paths, and Firestore Security Rules to help restrict access to authenticated users and their own data. Firebase services provide encrypted network transport using HTTPS.

SetSync and its service providers use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no account system, transmission, or storage method is completely secure. SetSync does not claim end-to-end encryption or guarantee absolute security.

11. Data retention

Account-associated information is generally retained while your SetSync account remains active. You can edit or delete individual workouts, templates, body-weight entries, and body measurements where those controls are available in the app.

When account deletion is completed, the implemented deletion process removes the Firebase Authentication account and user-scoped SetSync data. Some information may persist temporarily in Firebase or Google backups, security or operational logs, or records that a service provider must retain for legal or security reasons. SetSync does not promise a specific backup-removal period.

Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to respond, troubleshoot, maintain security, verify account ownership, or document completed privacy and deletion requests.

12. Account and data deletion

In the app, open Account, select Delete account, confirm the warning, enter your current password when reauthentication is required, and complete deletion.

If you cannot access the app, email setsyncworkout@gmail.com from, or identify, the email address connected to the account. Do not send your password. The developer may request additional non-password information to verify ownership and will process a verified request as soon as reasonably practical.

Deletion covers the user-scoped SetSync information connected to the Firebase user ID, including where applicable:

  • The Firebase Authentication account and user profile or settings documents.
  • Preferences, workout sessions and history, and workout templates.
  • Body-weight entries, the target-weight goal, and body measurements.
  • Calendar or activity markers and derived personal-record metadata.
  • Other user-scoped SetSync data stored for the account.

Uninstalling SetSync does not delete the account or cloud data. Deleting a SetSync account also does not delete a Google account, Ko-fi account, Stripe or PayPal record, email-provider record, or any other separate third-party account. See the complete SetSync account-deletion instructions.

13. Your choices and rights

You can view much of your information in SetSync, edit or delete supported entries, change app preferences, and delete your account. You may also contact support for an access, correction, deletion, restriction, or copy request.

Depending on your location, applicable law may provide some or all of these rights. Identity verification may be required before a request is completed. This section is general information and is not legal advice.

14. International processing

Firebase, Google, and email or support providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their processing locations and safeguards are governed by their service configurations, terms, and applicable law. SetSync does not claim a specific Firebase storage region in this policy.

15. Age requirements

SetSync is intended for users of all ages but is not directed to children under 16. Users who are below the age at which they may independently consent to online services in their region should use SetSync only with appropriate parent or guardian involvement.

16. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when SetSync features, services, or legal requirements change. Material updates will be reflected in the policy text, and the effective date at the top of this page will be changed when an update is published.
